Even though we’re a month shy of the summer solstice and most people are just beginning to break out the sundresses and shorts, fashion gurus around the world are steps ahead and have already premiered the hottest looks for fall and winter 2011. One of the most important trends to be on top of, especially for eyewear, is the pantone colors of the season. To help kick start your fall fashions, here’s a sneak peek at what colors you’ll be introducing to your closet:
Coming straight from the source, Pantone Color Institute has released the ten must-have shades of the fall season for women. This rich color palette is infused with earthy yellows, punchy pinks, sumptuous purples, coffee hued neutrals, tasty teals and more.
For men, the colors are similar to women’s but with a masculine remix approach. Staple fall hues in neutral shades like nougat, cedar and coffee liqueur keep the palette classic and strong. Honeysuckle, pantone’s color of the year, is reinterpreted into more macho shades of raspberry wine and other berry tones. Deep teal also had heads turning on the runway and proves to be a vital color for the cooler months.
The vibe of fall’s color spectrum is best summed up by Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute: “Designers take a painterly approach to fall 2011 by artfully combining bright colors with staple neutrals, reminiscent of how an artist would construct a stunning work of art. Much like a painter’s masterpiece, there is a certain romance to this season’s palette.”
We have a hunch that as the vibrancy of summer gives way to autumnal tones of fall, we’ll be seeing fashionistas eyecessorizing with honey browns and rich pomegranate and grape hues, while men will frame their faces in cool greens, blues and taupes with brown and pinkish undertones.
