MTV VMAs: A Spexy Show to Remember

Music’s finest brought their spirited fervor, epic talent and fabulous fashion to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., last night for the one-and-only 2013 MTV Video Music Awards! In seemingly a New York minute, the chic urban setting (which, by the way, hasn’t been used for the show in four years) was bursting with our favorite artists and celebs, who were totally stoked for the experience ahead—and for good reason. From Lady Gaga’s scandalous costumes (no surprise there), and Miley Cyrus’s outrageous dance moves during Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” to *NSYNC’s on-stage reunion and Justin Timberlake snagging multiple Moonmen awards, ‘twas certainly an evening to remember. But we had our eyes peeled for somethin’ else: specs ‘n’ sunnies, of course!

We were beyond thrilled to see that lots of the industry’s super cool guys and gals rocked the night away in shady style. All kinds of trendy silhouettes—like hippy-inspired rounds, aviators, oversized shields and geometric profiles—were hot commodities, not to mention patterned and gradient lenses, and black, white and metallic frames.

Those in the music biz must dig specs too, as a solid chunk of A-listers at the show topped off their sleek ensembles with glasses! Dapper rounds with quaint keyhole bridges, modernized aviators, flat-tops, and sleek semi-rimless and traditional rectangular frames—in clear, black and tortoise colorations—proved to be popular styles for these brilliant peeps!
