Spexy Stars Show Off at the Golden Globes

It appears that Ricky Gervais took his edgy humor down a notch for this year’s 69th Annual Golden Globes. While some critics think he may have been too censored, we’re sure the celebs were relieved by the lighter banter. Overall, it was still an entertaining show and, as expected, the stars created quite the buzz with their glam red carpet looks. Lucky for us, plenty of the evening’s attendees and nominees accessorized their charming suits and lovely gowns with fabulous eyewear. Check out the hottest styles of the night below:

Black, chunky retro styles in rectangular, aviator and square shapes stole the show. Everyone from Modern Family’s Rico Rodriguez to director Martin Scorsese was sporting the trendy look.

These Hollywood hunks kicked off the evening in chic shades. The man of the hour, Ricky Gervais, waved to fans in his sharp Karl Lagerfeld KL718S frames. The gradient lenses complemented his jacket perfectly.

Dapper round frames and keyhole bridges were also a popular choice among the show’s leading men. Heartthrob, Johnny Depp, took the stage in his signature bold specs while Steven Spielberg accepted his award for Best Animated Feature in thin, metal frames.

A myriad of other styles appeared at the Globes including rimless, rectangular and other minimalistic designs. Meryl Streep, who won Best Actress, went with classic oval frames; however, she accidentally cussed during her speech when she left them at her table. Elton John, who ignited a feud with Madonna, kept his look classy in handmade Alain Mikli AL0721 specs.
